  • Fast Fives is a just for fun league that runs internally to CSBH and is not affiliated with BHUK or BH International.

    Aim of the game

To find as many of the five available rats in the ring within a minute time limit. Additional points are available for other achievements and you can be disqualified from your run as detailed below.

Number of rats available per run - 5

Number of decoy tubes - 0

Tunnel Type - Up to one turn

    Points System

    Find a rat - 1

Run the tunnel - 1 (max of 1 point available)

Clear all five rats - 2

Toilet in the ring - DQ

Touch your dog at any point other than removing a found rat - DQ

    Run Rules

You must take your dog directly to the start mat on entering the ring.

Your time starts when you release your dog from the mat.

You must call ‘rat’ and hand the tubes to the judge/rat wrangler once they are found. The final tube counts once you call ‘rat’ correctly, it does not need to be handed to the judge.

You can run the tunnel as many times as your like but only 1 bonus point is available.

You may handle your dog in order to remove a found tube, not at any other time. You must release your dog immediately on getting the tube and can not send them off in any particular direction with encouragement on release.

You can point, cue and encourage your dog vocally as much as you like.

You may not reward your dog until the run is complete.

Rats will remain in the same place for one run per dog and then be refreshed for each subsequent run, therefore dogs must run in the same order all session. There may be some changes for judges dogs so they aren’t aware of the positions. If you miss your run on the day, you miss your run!

The judges decision is final on all rules and the right to end your run based on your conduct towards or of your dog is reserved.

The number of runs will be determined by the number of dogs in attendance. All dogs will get an even number on the day. The judges reserve the right to end the session early if the dogs are tired or struggling. This may happen if sessions have low numbers.

Instructors (Cat + Charleigh) can appoint anyone who they assess as competent to judge runs on the day.

    Winning on the day

The dog + handler with the largest points total on the day wins.

One handler can enter multiple dogs. The total is per individual dog and handler combination.

    Winning over the year

The dog + handler with the largest points total over the year wins. The number of sessions attended is not relevant.

Enter a team of 4 dog + handlers to accumulate points over the year to be the wining team. Your team total starts from the day you enter the team and does not backdate to individual totals. The number of sessions you attend is not relevant. All team members do not need to be at all sessions for totals to be valid. All sessions count towards the team total.

Teams may change a dog + handler for another twice over the year. The team can have a max of 4 members but can compete with less. Individual totals do not get backdated if team members change or join teams.

Totals will stay with each individual dog + handler and can not be moved with the dog or handler individually.

Instructors may not be team members or compete for the overall titles although their scores can be recorded and displayed.

A running total will be displayed on the CSBH website on the fast fives league page.

This is for FUN! The most important thing is that we keep it that way.
